I welcome students as young as 4 years old! For very young children, lessons focus on musical exploration, rhythm, and basic keyboard skills through fun, age-appropriate activities.
While having a piano or keyboard at home is ideal for practice, it's not required to start lessons. I can provide recommendations for suitable instruments and rental options.
Lesson lengths vary by age and level: 30 minutes for young children, 45-60 minutes for older students. Most students benefit from weekly lessons, though some advanced students may prefer bi-weekly sessions.
I require 24-hour notice for cancellations. Lessons cancelled with proper notice can be rescheduled. Emergency cancellations are handled on a case-by-case basis.
Yes! I organize seasonal recitals where students can showcase their progress in a supportive, encouraging environment. Participation is encouraged but never required.
Just bring enthusiasm to learn! I provide all materials for the first lesson. After that, I'll recommend appropriate method books and materials based on the student's level and goals.
Practice expectations vary by age: young children (10-15 minutes daily), elementary age (15-20 minutes), teens and adults (20-30+ minutes). Quality practice is more important than quantity!
